Michael:

 

In 1999 I began work as an investment broker in Sydney. Over my time i build a client base of about 300 clients to whom i advised clients on many types of investments but most importantly investment properties. These properties were in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. These properties were the best part our our investment strategy and made all clients very good returns on their investment.I too began purchasing investment properties personally and have never looked back.

 

I was becoming engrossed in the property market  both personally and with my client base. Property soon became the only investments i owned. The only difficulty in this new strategy was the lack of good quality property management so in 2004 I began to build and manage my own real estate agency in Alexandria, Sydney. Several years later i sold the company and it still runs in its original form today by the person who purchased it from me. 

 

My interest in positively geared property then began in about 2007 and i begun searching for real estate across Australia which would rent for more than the mortgage payments so i could begin to make my portfolio pay me passive income. My first positively geared property purchase was in Moranbah, QLD for $350,000 which i tenanted for $650 per week. From memory it made me about $7,000 per year but i paid 20% deposit plus costs totaling an initial $80,000 cash investment.

 

Bronwyn and I met initially with the idea of becoming business partners and we started a development company development solely designed to build our positive geared property portfolio. We have completed several projects which we still own and this company pays us passive income each month. We have subdivided land, moved houses, renovated and newly constructed. We own retail shops, industrial warehouses, residential units and houses, mining accommodation and several small block of units.

 

We begun to realise the opportunity of high yielding investment property in the United States and upon the completion of our present project in late 2009 we moved to Atlanta to find 5 properties which would suit our portfolio. We were on property forums and many people asked us to assist them in purchasing property in America which was the motivation to create Top Rental Returns as an American company and here we are today.


 

Bronwyn:

 

My background is diverse. I have owned and sold various small businesses and understands all about working long hours being self employed while building a business. The success I have found has always been through customer service and I maintain that personal contact with all our clients.

 Although I spent a few years in the public service my primary background has been in the accountancy industry. After working for a high profile accountancy firm in their insolvency division as their primary bookkeeper, I started my own bookkeeping business where I assisted clients to better understand their business cash-flows and financial management. I enjoyed creating marketing plans specialising in growing niche areas to strengthen cash flow.

As a single mother with the goal of creating a passive income stream and financial security I thought there has to be a better way to create income and spent six months researching prior to starting out in property development.

My first development project was building Industrial sheds in Muswellbrook NSW which i still own and manage to this day. Hunting for the next positive income stream project I met Michael through a mortgage broker and we joined forces to relocate houses, renovate units, subdivide land and renovate for tenancy all with the goal of creating high rental returning property to create passive income.

Jointly we have now created a positive income portfolio of over 20 properties that create a self supporting income stream. We both actively maintain and property manage these investments.

We have now relocated to Atlanta to be on the ground to purchase high yielding investment properties and assist fellow Australians.

I love finding the properties, putting it together, and creating homes desirable for tenants to live.

Here in Atlanta, I am the property hunter and initial client contact. I also makes sure all the little details are looked after when properties are being renovated prior to be placed on the rental market and co-ordinates paint tile and carpet choices for maximise tenant desirability whilst seeking to minimise ongoing maintenance. I ensure the electricity and services are turned on for the building contractors to begin work immediately after settlement.
